South Africa is the top exporter of lime among all the African countries followed by Egypt and Morocco. According to ITC Trade Map data, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Russia, and Hong Kong are leading importers of lime from South Africa with an import value share of 13.1%, 11.2%, 10.9%, 7.9%, and 7.7% in 2019. These five countries collectively imported USD 140 million worth of lime. Owing to the increasing global consumer demand, the exports are anticipated to rise in the coming years.
